Hosted by writer and journalist Nicky Woolf, and produced by Max Johnston at Goat Rodeo, THE SOUND dives deep into an unfolding global mystery – the bizarre illness, principally affecting American diplomats and spies, which has come to be known as “Havana Syndrome.”

Woolf is a former reporter and editor for The Guardian and The New Statesman and the writer and host of the award-winning Audible original podcast Finding Q. His work focuses on all the weird, crunchy stuff that happens where politics and technology intersect – things like Qanon, or Gamergate, Slenderman, and the rise of the online far right.

Johnston is a Senior Creative Producer at Goat Rodeo – a DC-based creative audio team with over half a decade’s experience in amplifying audio and crafting stories both in house and with award winning partners. A National Public Radio alumnus, Johnston specializes in sound-rich narrative storytelling.
